guiding star
in the days when the old sailing ships
crossed the ocean
and sometimes got lost
between the continents
without computers to steer their course
there were certain bright stars
in the sky
and the mariners knew
if they sailed towards their star
it would lead them home again
thus was born the expression
guiding starwhen i was lost
out on the open road
my heart filled
with nothing but battle
you were the guiding star
which led me back home
whenever my direction
has been buffeted by the wind
i've always seen you shining
in my sky
for you are a star from heaven
which fell
into this world
and lit my way
